Growing up in Rockford, Illinois, “uber-colorist” Carlo Michelutti spent many Saturday afternoons mixing colors and shampooing clients at his mother’s hair salon. Michelutti started his career in 1988 at Aveda’s headquarters in Minneapolis and was the national color director at Heidi’s on North Michigan Avenue from 1991 to 1997; he then helped start the color department at the ultra-chic Salon Buzz. In 2004, after working for Stonewater Luxury Salons and Spas in Connecticut, he returned to Chicago to open his own place, C Salon, in the West Loop. Michelutti’s clients range from socialites and fashionistas to politicians and sports personalities.

“Richer colors and fabrics translate into richer tones in hair color,” explains Michelutti. “Weaving different tones and contrasting color for dimension replaces what the summer sun has taken out of hair.”

Of Italian descent, Taylor was raised in Miami, Florida.

Starting her beauty career early, Taylor specializes in hair and make-up and loves special event styling for brides, fashion shows, and just because!

Staying busy is second nature to Taylor, and as a new mum spends her time looking after and loving her new baby girl. Nap time means she can catch up on housework and finish writing a book while allocating time to making people beautiful.

Born and raised in Chile, Giovanna has lived in the US for over 40 years.

An accomplished commercial artist trained under the reknown Dr. Ostrow and fluent in Spanish, English, French with a little Italian!

She has worked as a Nail Technician for the past 33 years, and specializes in Natural Nails, along with Gel, Silk-Wrap, Apres Enhancements and full Body Waxing.

Science and Wellness is in David’s blood. He came from Boston, Massachusetts armed with a chemistry degree and a strong desire to stay warm. Many years ago he started making cold process soap in his kitchen, while earning a skincare license (FB 9758086).

David joined the Society of Cosmetic Chemistry (ID #42873), and trained in Vermont with Eileen McKusick.

He eventually became a licensed massage therapist (MA 98216) and, acquired a Reiki Master Certification, is proficient in Hot Stones, Cupping, Gua Sha, Moxibustion and Tuning Forks (Level 1).

Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Juan moved to the United States at the ripe old age of 18.

Realizing a natural gift of healing, he has practiced for over two decades in many modalities including Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, Prenatal and Post Natal Massage, Thai and Assisted Yoga stretching.

Earning the clinics excellence Award, Juan was later hired as Assistant Clinical Director, Teacher’s Aide and Modalities Professor.

His passion for the ‘Healing Touch’ extends to his duties as a loyal father of three lovely boys.

As Ooh la la’s senior esthetician he is responsible for the smooth running and training of the Spa and Wellness staff. Proficient in all lash and brow services, skincare and hydrofacial, waxing, threading and body treatments.

Born in Kazakhstan, Lola doubles up at Ooh la la as one of our Front Desk Coordinators and Salon Make-Up Artist.

After graduating beauty school in New York, Lola started her make-up career in 2017. Deeply passionate about fashion and art, her make-up skills were put to the test at New York’s Fashion Week. She was the key make-up artist at the Miami Fashion Show held in TruTown Studios and has worked with many photographers and fashion designers.
